Quarrywood Glamping: A Place Where Care for Nature Shapes Every Stay

In rural Pembrokeshire, where winding lanes cut through meadows, Quarrywood Glamping isn’t the kind of place that shouts about itself. Instead, it hums quietly with care and craftsmanship — the kind of attention that only comes from people who have poured their hearts into creating something that truly matters.

Sarah Finlay and her husband founded Quarrywood in 2021 with a simple but profound idea: to offer guests not just a stay, but a sense of restoration. “We wanted people to slow down, to feel nature again,” says Sarah. “To come away with a memory, not just a booking confirmation.”

Their site, an adults-only haven for those seeking stillness, quickly gained a reputation for doing exactly that. Each pod sits within its own private glade, complete with wood-fired hot tubs and serene views over ponds and paddocks. Rescue goats, alpacas, and even a resident peacock wander nearby — a reflection of the owners’ deep respect for life and the land.

Quarry Wood is also a certified member of the Greener Camping Club, which enables it to operate without the need for local planning permission. Every guest automatically becomes a member of the club, gaining access to other eco-friendly sites across the UK. In line with the Tree for Life scheme, a new tree is planted for every membership — a small but tangible reflection of Quarry Wood’s environmental ethos.

After two successful seasons, Sarah began looking for something different — a structure that matched her eco ethos but also elevated the sense of design and luxury. Two years of research led her to Iglucraft. “We’d seen so many cabins and pods at shows, but nothing had that handmade soul,” she recalls. “Then we saw the Igluhut — and it just clicked. It was everything we’d been looking for.”

The decision came easily. Iglucraft’s natural wood finish, impeccable detailing, and design integrity resonated with the Quarry Wood philosophy: sustainability without compromise. “The craftsmanship was astonishing,” Sarah says. “You could tell immediately this was a company that cared.”

Delivery came precisely on schedule — a detail that impressed Sarah just as much as the design itself. “Given the journey it made, we expected delays. But it arrived right on time, and the whole process felt so smooth.”

Some challenges arose during groundwork and installation, which delayed opening slightly. Yet, as Sarah puts it, “that extra time gave us space to refine the area around the Igluhut, to make sure it showcased the cabin at its best.”

When the Igluhut opened to guests in June 2025, Quarry Wood found itself busier than ever. Occupancy reached around 80 percent within weeks — a sign that the careful approach was paying off.

“The feedback has been incredible,” says Sarah. “People talk about how considered it feels — that everything from the lighting to the layout seems designed to help you slow down.”

Guests often mention the calm that settles in after arrival — the quiet of the fields, the sound of the animals, the way the Igluhut feels at home in its setting. They also notice the comfort in the details: a bed so comfortable you don’t want to leave, a shower that feels more like home than glamping, and the ease of being able to bring the dog along without fuss. “It’s that sense of being looked after without even realising it,” Sarah says. “That’s what we wanted to create.”

With plans to add a wellness area in Spring 2026 — complete with Iglucraft sauna, ice bath, jacuzzi, and outdoor shower — Quarry Wood’s partnership with Iglucraft seems only just beginning. “We wouldn’t hesitate to order another,” says Sarah. “It’s not just about the look of the cabin — it’s about trust. Iglucraft delivered exactly what they promised.”

At Quarry Wood, nature and craftsmanship now work in quiet harmony — proof that when design and dedication meet, something lasting and genuine takes shape.
