Take Time for Me Time

24 Nov 2021

This birthday, my greatest self-gift was a 3-day of "Mind Spa" to reflect, relax, and upgrade my inner OS. Here's what happened.

My pandemic brain was craving a digital detox escape to sharpen executive function or cognitive abilities, including reasoning, paying attention, decision-making, and learning.
I booked a cosy sea-facing Iglu at Iglupark, located in the most vibrant area of Tallinn, Noblessner.
With its private terrace overlooking the sea, I enjoyed invigorating steam in the sauna followed by a dip in near-freezing seawater (Yep, ~8°C).
My first ever cold-water swimming revitalized my mind, body, and soul. That a smile was broadly displayed on my face.

Wandering Mind
While I enjoyed the serene beauty of the sea and watched the ships sail by, there was a constant flow of thoughts streaming through my mind. I wrote down the thoughts that were swirling around in my mind on a piece of paper. This process of brain dumping helped me declutter my mind and improve my focus.

Right To Disconnect
Many people have been able to work from home since the start of the pandemic. However, a growing number of them have found it difficult to separate their work and private lives. Taking some time off to unwind can boost your productivity and creativity.

If you're struggling to find a balance between work and self-care, you're not alone. It took me a long time to figure out how to take care of myself.

Remember, Make self-care a priority, not a privilege.

Igluhuts and saunas really are for anyone looking for MeTime or just a mini getaway.

Make Time for "Me Time"!
