Seaside Serenity at Pedaspä Igluhouse

Some places have a magic that makes you instantly slow down and breathe deeper—Pedaspä is one of them. Set against the backdrop of Estonia’s pristine coastline, Pedaspä invites visitors to unwind in a quiet and private setting. Featuring a Model 4 Panorama and a Single Iglusauna with a wood heater, this unique retreat provides an experience that reflects the simplicity of nature. Monika, the founder, opens up about the inspiration behind creating Pedaspä and why it’s become such a cherished getaway for guests seeking peace by the sea.

Where did the idea for Pedaspä come from?
We've always dreamed of having an accommodation business with my partner. The idea was there for a long time, but one thing was certain from the beginning—we needed to have a sauna. Without a sauna, it just wouldn’t feel right!”

How did you choose Iglucraft?
I knew right away that it had to be an Igluhouse and an Iglusauna. It blends perfectly with nature, and we didn’t even consider anything else. Plus, Iglucraft's strong brand and outstanding marketing make it almost effortless to attract guests.”

Where does the name Pedaspä come from?
The location itself is in Pedaspea. It’s one of Estonia’s most private beaches, stretching around 3 km, and only Pedaspea village residents have access to it. Our Igluhouse and sauna are located in a peaceful, private setting, just a short walk from the beach. The name Pedaspä comes from the local dialect. Local people, including my parents and grandparents, have always referred to it this way.”

How long did it take from idea to completion?
It all happened very quickly. We sent out an inquiry, placed the order, and that was it! The idea was born at the end of summer, and by late October, the house was already in place.”

Did you make any preparations before launching?
Yes, we spoke to the entire village to make sure everyone was comfortable with it. The neighbors were very open and supportive. Even now, they still come around to see how things are going and have hinted at the idea of having their own Igluhouse or sauna.”

How did the delivery and installation go?
It was all very smooth and fast. We handled the installation via video call while I was traveling. When I returned, I realized that the positioning didn’t quite feel right, so we decided to adjust it. Once I was on-site, I immediately sensed the perfect placement.”

Would you change anything if you were to order again?
Nothing at all! The only thing we would have considered was getting a bigger one, but we were limited to 20 square meters due to regulations.”

When did you start marketing?
The house was completed in October, and we opened on May 1st. We started marketing in April—just a month before launching. It was all organic, and we didn’t use any paid ads. Iglucraft's strong brand has allowed us to provide a truly unique experience, one that guests are eager to invest in at a higher value.”

How was the first year of business?
It was incredible! By July, we were fully booked. The second summer was just as busy. Even in winter, things were good—especially in the second year. During summer, most guests are international visitors from the UK and Germany. They come specifically for Iglusauna. In other seasons, we see a lot of domestic tourists.”

What was your first experience staying in the Igluhouse?
We spent the very first night there ourselves! The entire interior design was planned as if we were living in it ourselves—I wanted it to feel like home. Sitting in the armchair, looking out the window, and feeling completely at peace. I collected pampas grass from the nearby beach during the first cold days to bring a coastal feel inside.”

What do guests love the most about Pedaspä?
Their first reaction is always how cozy, warm, and well-thought-out everything is. The ambiance, the interior, and the sense of home. Many international guests love being surrounded by nature and wildlife. They truly enjoy the sauna—especially in winter when they can run straight into the snow. One of our latest guests came directly from the airport, had a long sauna session, and just soaked in the tranquility. They said they truly took time to slow down.’”

Whether it’s the stunning panoramic views, the authentic sauna experience, or simply the chance to escape into nature, Pedaspä offers a one-of-a-kind retreat that leaves guests feeling rejuvenated and at peace. www.pedaspaiglu.ee
